"Sunday Night Thoughts on B2B for Small Business" by Jon Nicponski

B2B for the Small Business has long been a focus in my career and continues since joining as an Integration Advisor @Cazoomi.

In our effort to sync the systems of small businesses, which contribute most to our nation's growth as a technology powerhouse, Cazoomi has found that this effort is key to the second wave of growth around Cloud services.

At Cazoomi we see a lot of service companies catering to synchronization of applications for medium and large business.  These companies usually implement their solutions using a core of re-usable synchronization code and then relying on their consultants to write custom connectors to that code.   It is the necessity for up front customization that leads to large upfront costs and more often than not delays in implementing their solutions.

Today’s small and medium businesses are reaping huge benefits by utilizing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Constant Contact, ExactTarget, Get Satisfaction, Highrise CRM, PaySimple, SugarCRM, Zoho and Zendesk.   The key appeal for many of the customers of these applications is that there is no upfront cost and a simple pay as you go model.

When these same small businesses realize the need to synchronize information across two or more of these SaaS platforms, they are still confronted with a solutions implementation model, and they often avoid synchronization all together due to the large upfront cost.

At Cazoomi, with the help of our partners' platform offerings, we are working on a line of SaaS synchronization connectors that can be purchased on-line by companies with a low monthly fee and  NO upfront cost.  These solutions are configured simply at the time of purchase by the customer entering the credentials of the services they want synchronized, and then are instantiated real-time on each platform to begin working for the customer immediately.

Our key take-a-ways this month within our member network have been that offering a SaaS, small monthly fee sales model, to provide customers large company benefits is the way to reach those small businesses which contribute so much to our nation’s growth in so many ways.

*Update: July 4th week @cazoomi will announce it's new "simple framework" to allow small businesses to large enterprises to sync the systems they use on a daily basis to simplify & leverage their existing applications.

Most visited presos on Cazoomi Network in 2010 | SaaS Pricing & Social CRM win on Slideshare

Last night our social CRM team in the Philippines had a cool idea to list our most favorited & clicked thru presentations on our Cazoomi Network the last 12 months to put up on LinkedIn and Slideshare:

Slideshareli

Slideshare2010

Each one of these presentations have been a conversation piece for us this past year & one of our favorite speakers on all things Business Strategy, Revenue Modeling, Recurring Revenue & Pricing is the presentation we listed first last night.  When our team got together this morning to review our presentation selections and go over some image placements on our Cazoomi site we noticed that Slideshare had emailed to let us know our upload of "SaaS Revenue Streams", from Lincoln Murphy, had won top placement in Slideshare's featured section.

Everyday, the SlideShare editors feature 15 great presentations on their homepage. Thousands of people see them and many lucky ones go viral on Twitter & Facebook.  Lincoln Murphy's presentation inspired our team when we launched Cazoomi.com last year and still does today so glad to see Slideshare agrees as well.

The presentation which garnered the most click-thrus on our network in 2010 was from Get Satisfaction around their Mint.com customer service lobby launch here.  It really demonstrates the value of transparency of business and how customers embrace this messaging from companies.

Each presentation in our top 6 has influenced our company vision this past year and in 2011 I'm sure we will have a few of our own presentations which some, we hope, will say influenced them in their company too.
